Live in Holmfirth!
Shooting Star Wrestling returns to Holmfirth in July after the successful debut in February!

SSW returns to Holmfirth, West Yorkshire with the event "Above and Beyond."
Due to the successful holmfirth debut in February, SSW Wrestling returns to The Picturedrome on Friday the 23rd of July for an packed night of wrestling action.
So kick start the summer holidays in style with Shooting Star Wrestling's Above and Beyond!
FANS’ FAVOURITE TO TAKE ON THE HEAVYWEIGHT HOUSE OF PAIN!
The first match to be announced for ‘Above and Beyond’ is a first time contest for SSW fans, as local hero, fan favourite and all around party guy Cameron Kraze will take on the stern, no-nonsense ‘Heavyweight House of Pain’ Stixx. Having come up short in his UEWA European Heavyweight Championship 1st Round match last time around, Stixx is looking to cement his hard-as-nails reputation by beating the laughter out of Cam. Meanwhile, having vanquished his foe Martin Kirby by forcing him to wear a dress at the last show, Cameron Kraze may be looking to refocus himself on in-ring competition. Will Stixx have his way, or will Kraze emerge victorious? Find out on June 23rd at ‘Above and Beyond’.
WRESTLING STYLES COLLIDE AT ‘ABOVE AND BEYOND’!
El Ligero is known to many as the UK Luchadore, with his unique Lucha Libre wrestling style enabling him to defeat opponents both great and small throughout the country. Having won his final tag team match with long-term partner Bubblegum as Hubba Bubba Lucha defeated Fight Club at New Resolutions last February, Ligero finds himself forced back into singles competition by his partner’s retirement.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed World of Sport legend Keith Myatt, a British wrestling institution and a thirty year mat veteran, has been signed to the Shooting Star Wrestling roster following an impressive effort as part of the gauntlet run by Paul Malen at When Darkness Falls. Myatt is less than impressed with the cruiserweight stylings of Ligero, and has allegedly stated that he wishes to ‘wrestle the mask off’ of the popular Mexican when SSW return to Holmfirth in July.
Therefore, as announced on Dropkick Radio on 17th June, signed for ‘Above and Beyond’ on July 23rd at the Holmfirth PictureDrome is a singles match being billed as ‘Wrestling Styles Collide’ – it will be the slick and stylish Lucha Libre UK Luchadore El Ligero taking on the grumpy old man, the Mat Veteran, Keith Myatt!
MALEN RETURNS TO SSW AT 'ABOVE AND BEYOND'
In April, despite clouds of volcanic ash and lingering injuries, 'The Prodigy' Paul Malen travelled to Hamburg, Germany to represent Shooting Star Wrestling in the UEWA European Heavyweight Championship tournent finals. Malen went head to head with Danish Pro Wrestling's lead man, Chaos in an all out battle in and outside the ring. After a brutal brawl, Chaos used the referee to distract Malen, leaving Paul wide open for the DDT scoring Chaos the victory.
On July 23rd, Paul Malen will be returning to Holmfirth, the site of his first round victory against Stixx, for 'Above and Beyond', and he has requested a few minutes of mic time to speak to the SSW fans. What Paul will have to say on the night was not discussed with management, but whatever it may be, you can be sure that 'The Prodigy' will stir up some interest.
NATHAN CRUZ TO STEAL THE SHOW?
Fresh from making some serious waves on the UK scene, fresh young star Nathan Cruz will be at 'Above and Beyond', but he will not be alone. Not only has Cruz been taken under the wing of Joey Hayes, with the pair shaking hands after their triple threat match with Andy Wild at 'New Resolutions', but he may have additional support. SSW understands that several top sports agencies, as well as some of British wrestling's best managers, are attempting to secure Nathan's signature, offering lucrative deals in an attempt to gain Cruz as a client. Nevertheless, Hayes has asked Cruz to team with him on 23rd July, and SSW are currently finalising a deal to sign their opponents.
RUFFNECK'S REVENGE
Sykes and Ruffneck have been on a collision course in Shooting Star Wrestling; and after the Wrecking Crew's behaviour during their last appearance in SSW, Ruffneck has decided there will be no more. Robbed of his tag team partner Sabotage, the leader of Pain Inc. has recruited another no-nonsense badass to go to war with him in T-Bone, a 6ft-plus beast. Meanwhile, Sykes has been boasting to anyone who will listen that SSW is afraid of booking his Wrecking Crew of Havok and the Colossus Kennedy, and that they have vanquished Ruffneck and his Pain Inc. from the face of professional wrestling
So, at "Above and Beyond", Ruffneck and T-Bone, the 6ft 2 tattooed monster, will go toe to toe with The Wrecking Crew of Sykes, Havok and Kennedy. SSW Management have decreed that this will be the final meeting between Sykes and Ruffneck, so this will be the war to settle the score! Which side will come out on top?
HUGE TRIANGLE TAG MATCH SIGNED!
When SSW Management learned that Joey Hayes and Nathan Cruz had plans to compete as a tag team, we wanted to put them up against the best young talent British wrestling has to offer. After much consideration, we thought we’d found the perfect opponents. However, something else threw a spanner into the works, so we used it to crank things up a notch.
Returning to SSW at “Above and Beyond” is former FutureShock Wrestling Champion and 2007’s “Best of the North West” trophy winner, ‘SuperStylin’ Sam Bailey. At only 22 years of age, Sam may just be the hottest prospect in the country, and a win over fellow hot prospects Cruz and Hayes would certainly bolster his claim. However, in an odd circumstance, Sam will be the veteran in his team. His partner is none other than the youngest professional wrestler in the UK today, Robbie X! Having defeated ‘The Israeli Icon’ Noam Dar last time out in a “Stars of the Future” match at “New Resolutions”, Robbie is looking to earn himself a full contract with SSW, and a good showing in this contest could help him do just that.
So a tag team match was pencilled in, and SSW Management were all set to sign and seal the deal. Then, at the eleventh hour, some new information was brought to the attention of the board, and it led to an even bigger match than previously imagined.
KRIS TRAVIS SEEKS REVENGE AT “ABOVE AND BEYOND”
Over a year ago at “When Darkness Falls”, Kris Travis had his Shooting Star Wrestling undefeated streak broken by Joey Hayes in an impromptu bout. Despite his protests about being unready for such a bout, Travis nonetheless lost his spotless record and missed out on his lucrative win bonus. Aggrieved and aghast at the circumstances and the fallout from the loss, Travis disappeared from the SSW radar and ceased all contact with management. Then, just as the board were ready to sign Hayes to his match contract for “Above and Beyond”, Travis contacted Shooting Star Wrestling with a proposition, stating that he’d heard from reliable sources that Hayes and Cruz were now a tag team, and that he had a partner of his own with whom he wished to take on the man who ‘robbed’ him of his 100% record.
Making his SSW debut on July 23rd at the PictureDrome is D-Rok, a street thug who has wrestled all around the country. Although Shooting Star Wrestling had no direct contact with D-Rok prior to his contract signing, Kris Travis assured us that he is ready to bring the violence and fight for his cause, and having seen his work elsewhere, the board had no hesitation in putting him into this vital tag team match.
Three teams. Three men in the ring at any time. Scores to settle. Names to be made. One fall to a finish. What will the outcome be in this gigantic contest on July 23rd?
THE JUICE” CJ BANKS RETURNS TO HOLMFIRTH
At “New Resolutions”, the man who calls himself “The Juice”, CJ Banks, gained revenge for a previous loss by pinning Lionheart in the middle of the ring, fair and square. Since then, Banks has done nothing but boast about his victory, and now it seems there may be a method to his ego. Rumour has it that Banks has his eyes set on gold, and that he will use his appearance at “Above and Beyond” to announce his intentions to challenge for a title. Having gained a clean victory over the reigning PBW and BCW Heavyweight Champion, could it be one of those titles CJ Banks will be shooting for? Or could it be something else entirely? Whatever it is, the answers surely lie in wait on July 23rd.
STOP PRESS! MARTIN KIRBY TO COMPETE AT “ABOVE AND BEYOND”?
Having been bested by his nemesis Cameron Kraze for the final time at “New Resolutions”, Martin Kirby was (eventually) forced to wear a particularly cute pink dress as a result of his loss. Humiliated, Kirby vowed never to appear in Holmfirth or in Shooting Star Wrestling again, and spent the rest of the night berating SSW management, staff and anyone else who could listen until finally being removed by security. However, Kirby still has a contract to fulfil with Shooting Star Wrestling, which specifically states that “Mr. Bad Attitude” cannot refuse to wrestle and still receive a pay cheque. Additionally, Kirby is a little on the short side financially, having failed to receive any win bonus during his entire two year tenure in SSW, and losing his job is not something a man with the lifestyle of Martin Kirby can afford. After all, those sunglasses and ring robes don’t pay for themselves.
So, faced with the possibility of being out of work, Kirby has agreed to continue to fulfil the contract he so desperately has to keep in order to earn. SSW Management have accepted this of Martin Kirby, and are currently mulling over his position within the company in order to best place his opponent for “Above and Beyond”. What will Martin Kirby be doing on July 23rd in Holmfirth?
